Lora Nordstrom, PhD,

BSN, CCRC

 

Lora has been in clinical research for over 3 years and currently works at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) as a clinical research coordinator in the Department of Research Administration.  She coordinates all aspects of prospective tissue collection studies at healthcare institutions that collaborate with TGen.  Lora received her certification as a CRC in September, 2007, through ACRP.   

Vice President:

Despina Hardy

Despina is a graduate of Westminster University, London, UK.. She has a degree in clinical podiatry with experience working in Private Practice, National Health and the prison service.  Once moving to the US, Despina has been employed administratively in Health Insurance (medical review) and doctors offices.  Despina is a recent graduate of the Clinical Research Coordinator Program, Gateway Community College, Phoenix and is transitioning into the clinical research arena while supporting the efforts of AZ ACRP.
 

Treasurer:

Katie Gano, BS, CCRP

 

Katie has been in research for 5 years and currently works in Cancer Clinical Research at the Mayo Clinic Arizona, specializing in hematology clinical trials. 

Katie is SoCRA certified, and completed the GateWay Community College CRC program in 2004.

 

Secretary:

Sharon Fleck, BS, CCRP

 

Sharon currently serves as Research Data Specialist for TGen Clinical Research Services at Scottsdale Healthcare.  She is involved in Phase I Oncology Trials including drugs and biological agents often first-in-man.  Previously, she was both Clinical Research Associate and IRB Coordinator at the City of Hope Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital.  Sharon is SoCRA certified, and completed the GateWay Community College CRC program in 2004.
 

Membership:

 Laura Wilkes, CCRC

 

Laura has been in clinical research for 18 years.  She is currently working in the Bone Marrow Transplantation Department at Banner Health Good Samaritan as the Research Regulatory Affairs Coordinator.  She is a graduate of the Clinical Research Coordinator Certificate Program at Gateway Community College.  She has been a certified CRC with ACRP for the past 7 years.
 

Community Liaison:

Linda A. Mottle, MSM-HSA, RN, CCRP

 

 

Ms Mottle has over 30 years experience in health administration and clinical research management. Linda is an RN, with a BS in Health Planning and Administration, and a Masters of Science in Health Management, and is nationally certified as a clinical research professional.   She has been a manager, analyst and consultant in federal and state health planning agencies, and private health systems initiating, designing, implementing, and managing new health service delivery models, products, and research departments.

Linda was the Operational Manager for the Telemedicine Research Department at Partners Health System, the parent company of Massachusetts General Hospital.  She is a board member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals Phoenix Chapter and the Arizona Bioindustry Association.  Linda is also on the Clinical Trial Center Advisory Board at Inje University in Busan, South Korea where she has taught advanced CRC workshops for several years.  Ms. Mottle also served as the national consumer representative on the FDA- Center for Devices and Radiological Health Circulatory System Medical Device Advisory Panel. 

 In early 2003, she designed, and implemented the second Community College based Clinical Research Coordinator training program in the United States at GateWay Community College. In January, 2007 Linda transferred to ASU, College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation as the Director for the new Center for Healthcare Innovation and Clinical Trials where she is conducting and developing industry sponsored clinical trials. She is also manages several new graduate clinical research management programs, including a Certificate, MS degree and continuing education courses for Clinical Research Management.

Barbara Marusiak. RN. BSN, CRC, CRA

 

Barbara is Associate Project Manager at Bard Peripheral Vascular in Clinical Affairs. She is currently in the Stent Graft Franchise and busily working on clinical trials. A recent graduate of the Gateway Community College CRC program, Barb is now in the new graduate clinical research management program at ASU, College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation.   Graduated from Hackley Hospital School of Nursing in 1973 - spent many years in the US Air Force.
